posted 03/04/2010 The 2010 CONNYlacrosse Boys Online Rules Test is now up and active. Every boys coach, new or returning, must pass this twenty-five question open book test every year to fulfill CONNY rules training requirements.
To take the test, click on the "Register Online" choice on the menu bar on the left of the CONNYLacrosse.org Main Page; or click here: http://www.connylacrosse.org/Registration/Default.asp?snid=508725962&org=CONNYLACROSSE.ORG, and scroll down to the 2010 CONNY Boys Lacrosse Rules Test.
Instructions:
1. Please completely register your name in the CONNY database BEFORE taking the test.
2. At the bottom of the Registration form, please identify the team you will coach and indicate your role on the team (head coach, assistant coach, Scheduler, etc.) as appropriate. You can use several drop down lines if you have multiple roles on a team or multiple teams.
Before you take the test, make sure you have at hand the 2010 CONNY Boys Rules of Play, 2010 CONNY Bantam Rules of Play, and the 2010 NFHS Boys Lacrosse Rules Book. Without these 2010 references, you almost certainly will fail the test. Using a pre-2010 NFHS Rules Book or the NCAA Rules Book will only make passing harder, not easier, because of numbering and other differences (NFHS changes numbering and other organizational factors almost every year, probably so everyone has to buy a new book).
On the other hand, with current 2010 materials, if you read the rules and situations references provided with each question before answering, passing the test should be straightforward. Even carefully reading the references to every question, the test should not take more than twenty to thirty minutes. Remember, it is an open book test with no time limit, so the passing grade is 100%! However, you can retake the test immediately if you don’t pass (you will not be told which questions you missed, regardless of what the Registration Review page says).
If you are use the current 2010 references and still fail, call CONNY Rules Committee Chairman Jack Couch at 203-838-0232 with your answers and he will coach you to victory.
